Cooking with your kids can be fun, easy and an
inexpensive activity for those rainy days!
Easy Sloppy Joes
1 Medium Onion
Ground Beef
Salt and Pepper
1 Jar of Spaghetti Sauce
Hamburger Rolls
Cut up onion into small pieces. Crumble and brown
ground beef and onion. Drain off any fat. Add spaghetti sauce
and salt and pepper to taste. Serve on hamburger rolls.
French Toast
Shortening or butter
Bread
2 Eggs
1/2 Cup of Milk
Salt
Powdered sugar or pancake syrup
With a fork mix 2 eggs, milk and a dash of salt. Dip
slice of bread into egg mixture. Grill over medium heat until light
brown. Sprinkle powered sugar over (or use pancake syrup).
Ice Cream Sandwiches
Large Chocolate Chip Cookies (its probalby cheaper to buy
them)
Vanilla Ice Cream
Put 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream onto the bottom of a
cookie. Place another cookie on top and press together as much as
possible without breaking the cookie. Kids love this!
Pan S'Mores
3/4 cup Light Corn Syrup
3 tbsp butter or margarine
1 Pkg Milk Chocolate Chips (or semi-sweet if you prefer)
1 tsp Vanilla
12 oz (1 box) Golden Grahams Cereal
3 cups Mini Marshmellows
Grease a 13" x 9" rectangular pan. Heat
the corn syrup, butter or margarine and chocolate chips to a boil,
stir constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Put
cereal in a bowl and pour the chocolate chip mixture over and toss until
coated. Add marshmellows, part at a time. Press in the pan and
let stand for 1 hour. Cut into squares.
